ABERYSTWYTH

Municipal borough of Dyfedshire, Wales, situated on the coast of Cardigan Bay. It is a market town and a resort, educational, cultural, and administrative center. The University College of Wales, the National Library of Wales, the Welsh Plant Breeding Station, and many government offices are located there. The town was founded by Edward I in 1277 as a walled castle borough and was a stronghold of Owen Glendower from 1404 to 1408.
