ABIE'S IRISH ROSE

American play (1992) by Anne Nichols. A comedy about a Jewish boy and Irish girl who marry despite their parents' storng protest, it makes a plea for tolerance and understanding in a warmhearted but sentimental manner. The play achieved a long Broadway run of 2,327 performances despite hostile critical appraisal.
