ACELDAMA

Area of burial caves on the southern slope of the Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna), outside the southern wall of Jerusalem. Aceldama is mentioned by name only once in the Bible; in the story of Judas in Acts 1:19, it is referred to as the “field of blood.” In Matt. 27:7 the same area is called the “potter’s field.”
